The MEEA is a private, non-profit, non-political organization of scholars interested in the study of the economies and economics of the Middle East. The geographical term "Middle East" is used in its widest usage. Its objectives shall be:
- promotion of high standard scholarship,
- facilitation of communication among scholars through meetings and publications, and
promotion of cooperation among persons and organizations committed to the objectives of MEEA.
The International Nice-Riviera Airport, a major airline transport hub, is the largest airport outside of Paris. There are two terminals, one for international flights and the other for domestic flights. It is 10 mn from downtown Nice. Over 30 daily flights to and from Paris (1.5 hour flights), 59 international flights (including 9 daily Nice-London), 33 domestic connections.

Created in 1989, the CEMAFI (Centre d'Etudes en Macroéconomie et Finance Internationale) is accredited by the Education ministry with code number EA 1203. The director is Professor Claude BERTHOMIEU.
The CEMAFI is the research and teaching structure for Master 2 "Macroéconomie Approfondie et Processus Economiques et Financiers d'Intégration" (MAPEFI) (Research and Professional Master 2) and for students preparing their PhD in Economic Sciences in the same research topics as Master 2 Research. CEMAFI is one of the five research structures of the Ecole Doctorale INEI "Interactions Nationales Européennes et Internationales".
The research topics of CEMAFI are centred on the macroeconomic analysis of contemporary developed and developing countries in a context of world competition.
CEMAFI constitutes the center of an international network in macroeconomic research.
